Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Fiber Engineer to join our team. As a Fiber Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of fiber optic networks. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliable and efficient transmission of data through fiber optic cables.

Responsibilities:
1. Fiber Network Design: Design fiber optic networks, including fiber routes, splice locations, and network architecture, considering factors such as capacity requirements, distance limitations, and network scalability.
2. Fiber Optic Cable Installation: Oversee the installation of fiber optic cables, including fiber pulls, splicing, terminations, and testing, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices.
3. Fiber Network Documentation: Create and maintain accurate documentation of fiber optic network layouts, splicing diagrams, as-built drawings, and fiber inventory to support network troubleshooting and expansion.
4. Fiber Network Testing and Troubleshooting: Conduct fiber optic testing using specialized equipment such as OTDRs (Optical Time Domain Reflectometers) and optical power meters to measure signal loss, identify faults, and troubleshoot network issues.
5. Fiber Network Maintenance: Perform regular maintenance activities on fiber optic networks, including cleaning, inspection, and preventive maintenance of fiber cables, connectors, and splices to ensure optimal network performance.
6. Fiber Optic Equipment Configuration: Configure and integrate fiber optic equipment such as optical transceivers, multiplexers, and switches to support the transmission of data over fiber networks.
7. Collaboration and Coordination: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including network engineers, project managers, and field technicians, to ensure seamless integration and delivery of fiber optic network projects.
8. Industry Research: Stay updated with the latest advancements in fiber optic technologies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements to drive innovation and ensure compliance.
9. Quality Assurance: Implement quality assurance measures to ensure reliable and robust fiber optic network performance, including testing and validation of network components and adherence to quality standards.
 
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s/HND in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field.

1. Strong knowledge of fiber optic principles, transmission technologies, and network architecture.
2. Proficiency in fiber optic splicing, termination, and testing techniques.
3. Experience working with fiber optic test equipment such as OTDRs, optical power meters, and fiber identifier tools.
4. Familiarity with industry standards design guidelines.
5. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot and resolve fiber optic network issues.
6. Knowledge of network protocols and technologies such as Ethernet, IP, and DWDM is a plus.

Proximity to Ikeja is very key
